The Dainsberg Research Library is home to extensive collections of boat and classic boating periodicals. These publications are available to our members for research during regular museum hours.
Many of these publications come from the private collection of noted classic boat enthusiast and author, Bob Speltz. The Bob Speltz Land-O-Lakes Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society donated his periodical collection to the museum.
The collection includes past issues of these periodicals:
Boating - Classic Boating - Power & Motoryacht - The Wooden Boat - Wooden Boat – Yachting
The Real Runabouts
A complete collection of The Real Runabouts book series by Bob Speltz is also available. His vast knowledge of the wooden boat industry is truly a treasure and a must read for those interested in classic boating and the related history.
